What is it?

Outdoors winter fun for the whole family! These sturdy and lightweight shoes which are kids friendly, will offer you and your children a safe and pleasant hiking experience.

Who should wear which snowshoe size? Snowshoe size is a key factor in getting the right amount of floatation. Generally, the heavier the person or the lighter and drier the snow, the more snowshoe surface area is required. You can choose the most suitable one according to the size & weight guide below:

- - - 14 Inches : 30 – 70lbs / 14 – 31kg;
    - 21 Inches : 70 – 150lbs / 31 – 70kg;
    - 25 Inches : 120 – 180lbs / 55 – 82kg;
    - 27 Inches : 160 – 225lbs / 79 – 102kg;
    - 30 Inches : 180 – 250lbs / 81 – 114kg.

What is included?

This kit includes:

1 pair of either Gpeng (14″/21″/27″) or Atlas (21″) or XtremePro Outdoors (30″) Snowshoes
1 pair of snowshoe poles
1 carrying bag for all items
1 quick user’s guide (laminated on key ring)
1 accessories bag – (GPENG snowshoe: list, 2 snow baskets, 2 rubber covers for poles, 1 storage clip for poles) OR (ATLAS/XTREMEPRO snowshoe: list, 2 snow baskets, 4 rubber covers for poles)

What you need

No additional items are needed to use this kit. We ask that the snowshoes and poles be returned as dry and as clean as possible to avoid the molding and rusting of the items and the carrying bag.

The Fine Print

This kit may be borrowed for one week. One renewal is permitted, provided there are no reserves waiting.
Borrower must be a MVLC library card holder with an account in good standing.
Must be picked-up and returned to the Ipswich Public Library Circulation Desk.
The kit will remain on borrower’s account until a staff member is able to check kit condition.
Fines may be issued for both missing/damaged kit parts or for the loss/damaging of the whole kit. The total replacement costs for each kit is as follows:

      - 27″ Snowshoe Kit: $115.00.
      - 30″ Snowshoe Kit: $120.00.
