External Portable DVD/CD Drive
What is it?
The Rioddas External DVD/CD Drive is an easy-to-use, plug and play device. “No external driver and external power cord needed. Just plug it into your USB port and the DVD driver will be detected. Designed with an eject button, so that you never have to worry about your disc getting stuck inside this external CD/DVD drive. With copper mesh technology in the external component, you can be rest assured of stable data transmission. This drive is ideal for various devices. It supports Windows XP/2003/Vista/7/8. 1/10, Linux, and all versions of the Mac OS system. (For the desktops, please connect the device to the back USB port of the motherboard for normal use.)”
Who is it for?
Anyone who may be lacking a DVD or CD drive on their newer computer and wants to listen to CDs, watch movies, copy files, back-up data, burn files, or install a system that requires a CD install. Please keep in mind that this is not a Blu-Ray player, and it will only be able to play and read DVDs and CDs.

- 1 protective box with bubble wrap

What you need
No additional items are needed to use this kit. This device is compatible with most PC and Mac desktops and laptops.
Please note that this kit/items within this kit may be used to store and/or transfer your personal data. If you upload, transfer, or log-in to collect your personal data on any such devices in this kit, please remember to delete your data and/or log-out of your accounts before returning items to the library. Library staff will not always be able to check every item to assure personal data has been completely deleted. If you notice personal data stored on any device you borrow, please feel free to either delete the information or contact the staff at the library so we can delete the data upon return.
The Fine Print
- This kit may be borrowed for one week. One renewal is permitted, provided there are no reserves waiting.
- Borrower must be a MVLC library card holder with an account in good standing.
- Must be picked-up and returned to the Ipswich Public Library Circulation Desk.
- The kit will remain on borrower’s account until a staff member is able to check kit condition.
- Fines may be issued for both missing/damaged kit parts or for the loss/damaging of the whole kit. The total replacement cost for this kit is $39.00.
